United Arc to Offer Consultations March 15, 2012

The United Arc is offering free consultation to parents of special education students on Thursday, March 15 from 4 - 6:45 PM at its Franklin County Support Center, 110 Harrison Ave, Greenfield. Parents who have questions about their child's school program, assessments or transition or who would like help to prepare for an IEP meeting are invited to sign up for a free 45 minutes consultation session. Helping Seniors Stay at Home

Consumer Directed Care lets elders choose their own care provider. Funds are provided for them to pay the care provider, too.

Consumer Directed Care is for ALL elders, not just those on MassHealth. It’s a great program if you live rurally, if there is a language barrier, or if the elder has memory disorders.

Supporting Siblings of Children with Disabilities

The United Arc invites families and interested community members to a workshop on supporting siblings of children with disabilities.  This workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 18 from 6 - 8:30 PM at The Arc Common, 20 Chapman Street, Greenfield, MA.

A guest speaker from the MA Sibling Support Network will describe research on the impact of disabilities on siblings, discuss ways to foster a positive sibling experience among children, and share information about the growing sibling movement.
