RSVP Now for Events Next Week

Adapted from Common Capital and Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC) press releases:

The first part of next week presents two opportunities for people to become more involved in their community.  On Monday night, Common Capital, a community loan fund serving western Massachusetts, will hold their twenty-fourth annual celebration, "Investing in What Works".  Then, Horizons for Homeless Children will offer training, on Tuesday and Wednesday evening, for volunteers interested in helping children in Greenfield's homeless shelters.

Creative Economy Summit 2013

This page is our clearinghouse for all things related to the Creative Economy Summit, held March 22 & 23, 2013, in Turners Falls.  The summit is an arts meets business symposium and this year's theme was, "Cultural Vitality: In Person, Around Town and Online".  From here you can look at our photo album, find out more about the event, watch the videos online, and learn when they'll be airing on Cable Channel 15.

Creative Economy Live!---UPDATED 3/21/13

For the first time, several Creative Economy Summit (CES) sessions will be streamed live on www.gctv.org!  Greenfield Community Television will once again be filming many of the event’s "art meets business" workshops for future viewing online, and on Cable Channel 15, but this year you’ll be able watch a few of them as they happen---even if you can’t make it to Turners Falls this weekend.

Be sure to check our homepage beginning at 9:15am on Friday for the Opening Plenary, “What’s in it for Me?”  Afterwards, we’ll be streaming one of the workshops in each of the sessions at 11am, 2pm, and 3:30pm and again on Saturday at 10:30am, 1:45pm, and 3:15pm.  We’re really excited about this advancement in our coverage and hope you will be too.

Energy Initiatives in Massachusetts

This week, both the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and Sandri let us know about interesting programs they are offering, or have offered, to local residents.  MassCEC is encouraging people to save money, and help create local jobs, by going with solar energy and Sandri won a grant to help wood pellet central heating increase in our area.  Click the READ MORE>> link to read their press releases.
