Attention Young Filmmakers: We Want Your Movie

The Northampton Arts Council will once again present YouthFilm, a week-long festival of videos created by area youth and screened at the famous Academy of Music Theatre in downtown Northampton.  The festival accepts film and video entries from throughout the region by young people from 5–18 years old.

Whether you're an aspiring screenwriter or a fan of movies, the Williamstown Film Festival's Project Screenplay invites you to take part in a live-action game show about the art of the pitch, hosted by screenwriter Andrew Osborne. The audience will decide who gets the green light when aspiring screen scribes pitch their concepts and act out scenes while industry professionals offer tips and advice for bringing a script from page to projector on Wednesday, November 5th, at 7PM.

7 Day Film Sprint is Coming

Northampton Community Television is inviting anyone who is interested in filmmaking to form a team and create a 7 minute movie over the course of 7 days, from October 14th to the 21st.  At the end of that time, a grand screening party, complete with awards, will be held.

Greenfield Awarded Recycling Dividends Funds

In a letter from Maeve Vallely Bartlett, MA Department of Environmental Protection Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs, Mayor William Martin was informed on Tuesday that Greenfield will be awarded $2,800 as a result of the Greenfield Department of Public Works’ efforts with the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP).

Deadline Approaches for 01301 Art Show

The Greenfield Local Cultural Council is reminding artists that the deadline for its second juried art show, “01301: Photos of Greenfield” is fast approaching. Photographers of all ages are encouraged to enter by December 31st. The only requirement is that photographs are of Greenfield. There is no entry fee and prizes will be awarded.  Applications are available at Greenfield Town Hall, the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, and online.
