Collaborations

This week, we're pleased to be able to tell you about two projects we're working on in partnership with several area organizations.  The first, in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day, is the brainchild of independent producer David Sherman.  We'll be helping him, and the great staff at Falls Cable, film one of the traditional Irish music sessions that are currently taking place at McCusker's Market in Shelburne Falls every other Sunday morning.

Reminders from the Northwestern District Attorney

This Saturday, September 26th, the NWDA's office will help you get rid of unwanted medications and secure yourself against identity theft.  From 10AM to 2PM, at the Greenfield Police Station (321 High Street), members of the public can participate in both National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and a Community Shred Event.

Human Rights Commission to Addresses Heroin Crisis

The Greenfield Human Rights Commission will be holding a public hearing about the heroin crisis in Greenfield and Franklin County on Monday, April 13, 2015, at 6PM, in the Greenfield Town Hall meeting room.  Anticipated topics to be discussed include efforts being made to solve the problem and the proposed Behavioral Health Network recovery center slated for the former Lunt factory complex or an alternative site.  Marisa Hebble, Director of the Opioid Education and Awareness Task Force of Franklin County and North Quabbin, will be the guest speaker.

Public Hearing Monday on Heroin Crisis

The Greenfield Human Rights Commission (HRC) will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 9th, at 6PM, in the Greenfield Town Hall meeting room, on the heroin crisis in Greenfield and Franklin County, the efforts being made to solve it, and the recovery center being proposed by Behavioral Health Network (BHN) to be located at the former Lunt factory complex.

3rd Prescription Drug Take Back Results Released

More than one ton of unwanted prescription drugs was collected in the Northwestern District on Oct. 29, 2011, during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Working together, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), local police, seniors, and other partners exceeded the amount collected during the 2nd National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 30, 2011, despite the surprise October snowstorm.
