Have You Filed Your Taxes Yet?

April 19th is the tax deadline for filing in Massachusetts and, even with a few extra days this year, it will be here before you know it.  Taxes can be complicated, boring, and an easy task to shove to the back burner but the BBB of Central New England wants to help consumers get their taxes filed on time and, even if they've already filed, not fall prey to scams.

We Made Beautiful Music Together

Thank you to everyone who helped the Greenfield High School Music Parents Association (GHSMPA) raise $4,110 last night, during their annual telethon!  GHS band and chorus students, under the direction of conductor Maria Scotera, really appreciate what these funds are used for: uniform cleaning, transportation to performances, instrument repair, and much more.  Before the festivities got underway this year, we took a few "behind-the-scenes" pictures to share with you:

Location Change for Winter Lecture Series

Due to a robust interest in the 2016 Historic Deerfield Winter Lecture Series, In Harm's Way: Conflict and Captivity Before the French and Indian War, the March 20th and April 24th talks will be moved to a new venue.  Both events will be held at Garonzik Auditorium, in the Koch Science Center, on the campus of Deerfield Academy.

Local Movie Premieres Thursday at Garden

With help from their teachers and GCTV, students at Four Rivers Charter Public School have once again produced their own documentary and will premiere it to the public at a red-carpet event at the Greenfield Garden Cinemas on Thursday, February 11th, at 7PM.  The film is the final product of their learning expedition, entitled “How do we Keep the Lights On?”, and looks at Burlington, Vermont’s innovative journey to become an entirely carbon neutral city.
