Our Greenfield Town Clerk, Deborah Tuttle, would like to remind everyone that the voter registration deadline for Greenfield's town election on November 3rd is coming up fast, on October 14th.  In addition, Mayor Martin wants to let residents know that our city has won a $10,050 Sustainable Materials Recovery Program grant.

Much to See & Do at Great Falls Discovery Center

All programs at the Great Falls Discovery Center are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted, and the facilities are accessible.   The center will be open from 10AM to 4PM every day through October 12th and then from 10AM to 4PM only on Fridays & Saturdays after that.

CRE to Hold Public Forum on Wood Burning

On Monday, September 28, 2015, the Greenfield Town Council's Community Relations & Education (CRE) Committee will host a forum on the human health and environmental impacts of residential wood burning and will present information on wood burning practices that improve air quality and energy efficiency.  Anyone attending will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss ideas.

September is Turners Falls History Month

Greenfield Recognized as Tree City USA

Yesterday, the DCR presented the Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA award to 83 Massachusetts communities, including Greenfield, and a Tree Line USA award to utility company National Grid. These awards are in recognition of communities and utility companies who have demonstrated great commitment to community-based forestry management and urban tree growth.

Public Hearing on Forest Plan Tuesday

The Department of Conservation and Recreation will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the Forest Resource Management Plan Update with area residents on Tuesday, April 21st, at 6:30PM, at the John Olver Transportation Center (12 Olive Street) in Greenfield.

Early Signs of Spring at Discovery Center

Spring is on its way!  Not sure?  As part of the Early Signs of Spring children's program at the Great Falls Discovery Center, on Saturday, March 28th, your kids can search high and low, with Janel Nockleby, for signs of its arrival.  There will be stories, activities, and crafts for children ages 3 to 6, with a parent or guardian present, but siblings and friends are welcome too.
