Climate Summer Riders in Town August 4th-9th

A team of six college-age students in orange shirts will be riding into Greenfield today.  They are traveling around western Massachusetts by bicycle , with no support vehicle, to build grassroots opposition to the proposed Kinder-Morgan Tennessee Gas Pipeline extension.  Thus far, they have traveled 500 miles and have more to go before ending the summer in Salem, MA.  During their time in town, they will host a Creative Open Mic with a climate justice theme.

Pat & Tex to Perform Friday & Saturday

DCR Opens Beaches & Waterfronts Early

Due to the warm weather conditions this week, Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Commissioner Jack Murray is pleased to announce that the following DCR beaches and waterfronts will be staffed and guarded 7 days-a-week beginning Wednesday, June 18, 2014.  Lifeguards will be on duty from 11AM until 6PM.

Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Commissioner Jack Murray today presented the 2014 Tree City USA Awards to 81 Massachusetts communities, including Greenfield for the 12th year,  and the Tree Line USA award to National Grid, a long-time supporter of DCR's Urban Forestry program.
