FCC Launches Application Process for Community Radio

From a Prometheus Radio Project press release:

On Monday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launched the first application process for small community radio stations in more than a decade. Nonprofit groups, schools, and Indian Tribes can apply for these low power FM (LPFM) stations online at the FCC website, and applications are due during a two-week window October 15-29, 2013.

Rep. McGovern Launches People's Rights Tour

U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern will host a series of events on Thursday, January 24th, and Friday, January 25th in Boston, Worcester, and Northampton to announce his two Constitutional amendments to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision in the Citizens United case, which unleashed a flood of corporate and special interest money into the American political system.  McGovern will be joined at each stop by national advocates and state officials who back efforts to overturn Citizens United.
