The Riverside Blues, Brews, & BBQ Festival, held under the iconic Poet’s Seat Tower, returns for its 6th year on Saturday & Sunday, October 8th & 9th.  “We love to showcase one of the gems of Greenfield- Beacon Park.  It is a wonderful place, with the surrounding mountains and Poet Seat Tower standing above” says Greenfield Recreation Director, and event organizer, Christy Moore.  “It is especially beautiful at this time of year with all of the changing foliage.”

Volunteers Needed & Roads Closed for Sunday Triathlon

The Greenfield Recreation Department would like people to know that it still needs volunteers for the 33rd Annual Greenfield Lightlife Triathlon being hosted this Sunday, August 7th, from 8AM to Noon, at the Green River Swimming Area, and that some roads will be closed to accomodate the race.  Over 350 tri-athletes from all over New England and beyond are expected to compete and raise money for the many programs and special events that the recreation department puts on each year.

Due to a robust interest in the 2016 Historic Deerfield Winter Lecture Series, In Harm's Way: Conflict and Captivity Before the French and Indian War, the March 20th and April 24th talks will be moved to a new venue.  Both events will be held at Garonzik Auditorium, in the Koch Science Center, on the campus of Deerfield Academy.
