Humane Society to Celebrate Pit Bull Awareness Day

Saturday, October 27 is National Pit Bull Awareness Day, and Dakin Humane Society is planning a special event to celebrate all that is Love-a-Bull about this American icon.  Pit Bulls, once a family dog of choice, have fallen upon some hard times due in part to sensational media stories about dog attacks, discriminatory insurance regulations, and legislation restricting their ownership.  No type of dog is more misunderstood, mistreated, or maligned. These loyal, loving, intelligent dogs bear the burden of bad publicity.

"Got Skeletons?  Calling All Scoundrels, Scandals and Other Skeletons That May Be Hiding in the Closet!" will be the topic of a round table discussion at the Central Massachusetts Genealogical Society's meeting on Tuesday, October 23rd.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 PM at the American Legion, 22 Elm Street in Gardner.  The Public is invited to attend.  There is a suggested donation of $2.00 for non-members.

No need to buy new when we can reuse and swap with your friends & neighbors! Free and open to families with children of all ages.
