Absentee Ballots Available for 5/1/12 Debt Exclusion Vote

From a Greenfield Town Clerk's Office press release:

Absentee Ballots are available for the Special Town Election which will be held May 1, 2012. Voters are reminded the last day to apply for an absentee ballot for this election is 12:00 noon on Monday April 30, 2012. Voters may vote at the Town Clerk's Office until that date and time or may request an absentee ballot by mail. Requests for Absentee Ballots should be submitted well in advance of the Election date.  For information on how to apply, call the Town Clerk’s Office at 772-1555 x 112.  The Greenfield Town Clerk’s Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

State Treasurer Appoints New MSBA Director

From a press release from State Treasurer Steven Grossman's Office:

Treasurer Steven Grossman has named Jack McCarthy as Executive Director of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), appointing a seasoned senior manager to the agency that helps fund capital improvement projects for the Commonwealth’s public schools.  McCarthy had served as interim Executive Director of the MSBA since December of 2011.

In news doubly related to GCTV, it was reported in today's Recorder that "Dukes of Sports" co-host Mike Cadran has put together a CD full of newspaper articles chronicling our local Thanksgiving Day high school football rivalry between GHS and Turners Falls.  As many of you know, we alternate filming the game each year with MCTV (Montague Community Television); they film it when it's at TFHS and we take care of it when it's GHS' home game.  After January 1st, folks interested in the history of

A late interception preserved a one point Indians lead as TFHS defeated Greenfield 7-6.  The victory gives Turners a place in the division 4 playoffs which start on Tuesday.  Video provided by our friends at MCTV.
