Upcoming Events at BFMC

Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Volunteer Services Department and Artisans of Western Mass will host an April Artisan Fair on Friday, April 3rd, from 9AM to 3PM, in the hospital’s main conference rooms.  Funds raised from the event will support the BFMC volunteers’ Media Lending Program.  In addition, the hospital is offering area residents a chance to have their cholesterol checked.

BFMC Offers Writing Workshop & Sports Clinic

This month, Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Oncology Department will offer a free writing workshop, Spirit of the Written Word, for Western Massachusetts residents touched by cancer, and Baystate Rehabilitation Care will sponsor a free sports clinic, Throwing, Rowing, Rackets, Clubs & More: A Sports Medicine Focus on the Upper Extremity Athlete.

Great Need for Blood Donors

The Baystate Health Blood Donor Mobile will host a blood drive on Tuesday, February 17th, from 11AM to 4PM, in the Medical Office Building parking lot (48 Sanderson Street, Greenfield).  All blood types are needed.  All eligible donors will receive a soup mug.  “With the frequent snow storms this winter, we have had to cancel many of our scheduled blood drives,” said Saundra Rose, blood donor recruiter for Baystate Health.  “We are asking for your help to build our blood supply back up again.”

Free Complementary Care Clinic 1/19/15

BFMC Yoga for Cancer Survivors

Baystate Franklin Medical Center’s Oncology Department will present a series of free, 8 week, yoga classes, Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors, at the YMCA in Greenfield.  The sessions, all taking place from 12PM to 1:30PM, will run January 7th through February 25th, March 4th through April 22nd, and April 29th through June 17th.

Our local hospital has scheduled several events this month to help you get ready for the holidays.  It all starts with this Friday's craft fair and continues with a cholesterol screening, followed by the first ever evening performance by BFMC's female a capella group.

Help Teach Pain Management

Franklin County Home Care Corporation (FCHCC) believes that there is a tremendous need for another option that people living with chronic pain can use to improve their situation.  To that end, FCHCC is offering a "Chronic Pain Self-Management Program" leader training on October 21st, 22nd, 28th, & 29th.  This evidence-based curriculum offers tools, skills, and the confidence one needs to take control, self-manage, and improve one's quality of life.
