From a Greenfield Human Rights Commission (HRC) press release:

In response to the call of national and state leaders for community dialogue in the wake of the December 14, 2012, tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the Greenfield Human Rights Commission will initiate a Gun Violence Reduction Initiative beginning on Monday, January 14, 2013, at 6:00 PM in the Greenfield Town Hall second floor meeting room. It is anticipated that the Initiative will encompass at least the next several months.

From a Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) press release:

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) and the town of Greenfield will co-host a public hearing on October 24, 2012, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The hearing will be held at the Greenfield High School, located at 1 Lennox Avenue, Greenfield, MA 01301. 

The purpose of the hearing is to give all stakeholders in Greenfield as well as those in the surrounding community the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns important to women, as well as the gaps or barriers they have experienced in the provision of services available. Citizens, government officials, and organizations that advocate for women and families in the region are invited to attend and encouraged to participate in the open public hearing by providing testimony/recommendations.

Greenfield’s 2.0 MW Solar Farm has been producing electricity since 6/19/12.  Residents can now go to the town web site and view the production statistics for the facility and monitor real time generation.  Go to the Town web site  www.greenfield-ma.gov .  On the main page scroll down to “Useful Links” and click on “Solar Farm Production Information.” Once at the site you will be able to see production by the day, week, month or year (lower left hand corner).  You will also see a running total of kwh produced and the environmental offsets associated with that production.

The Greenfield Human Rights Commission will be holding a public forum on Monday, August 20, 2012, at 6:00 PM on the second floor meeting room of the Greenfield Town Hall to gather opinions and testimony regarding the Franklin County Courthouse renovation relocation.
