Tonight! Free Showing of Drug Addiction Documentary

“The Hungry Heart,” a 93-minute-long documentary directed by Bess O’Brien, about the crisis of drug addiction in Vermont, will be shown at Greenfield Community College on Tuesday, April 15th, in the cafeteria commons, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

It's National Consumer Protection Week

Anti-Crime Task Force Receives $71,954 Boost

Still Time to Bid on Wet Paint!

Online bidding, for 20 paintings of local scenes and still lifes by some of the Valley’s best artists, began last week on the Northwestern Children’s Advocacy Center’s website.  The works of art will be the centerpiece of an Oct. 3 benefit silent auction and wine tasting at the Hotel Northampton, from 6:30 -9 p.m. (Auction closes at 8:30). In the meantime, they can be seen in a slideshow on the Northwestern CAC’s website.

Community Shredding Day September 28th

The Greenfield TRIAD/ “Seniors and Law Enforcement Together” (SALT) Council, in partnership with the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Franklin Sheriff’s Office, and Pro-Shred, Inc. are sponsoring a “Community Shred Event” to be held on Saturday, Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Greenfield Guiding Grange Hall, 401 Chapman Street, Greenfield. This three (3) hour event will be open to all Franklin County community members.  This is for residential shredding not open to businesses.

First Valley Gun Buy Back to be Held Oct. 5

The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office is pleased to offer the citizens of Hampshire and Franklin counties a safe way to dispose of guns from their homes at the first Valley Gun Buy Back on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Northampton and Greenfield police stations.

Children’s Advocacy Center Giving Tree Recipient

Children suspected of having been abused will have new toys to play with while receiving services at the Northwestern Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), thanks to the generosity of the employees at the Braintree office of New England Office Supply (NEOS), a minority- and woman-owned company.

Children’s Advocacy Center Wins National Accreditation

The Office of Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan is pleased to announce that the Northwestern Children’s Advocacy Center has been awarded accreditation by the National Children’s Alliance.

Accreditation by the NCA, which is the national accrediting agency for Children’s Advocacy Centers nationwide, is the highest level of membership approved by the NCA, recognizing excellence in service, as determined by a months-long application and site review process.

DA Gets $300K to Fight Domestic Violence in Western Mass
