Tonight! Free Showing of Drug Addiction Documentary

Adapted from a Northwestern District Attorney’s Office press release:

“The Hungry Heart,” a 93-minute-long documentary directed by Bess O’Brien, about the crisis of drug addiction in Vermont, will be shown at Greenfield Community College on Tuesday, April 15th, in the cafeteria commons, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

It's National Consumer Protection Week

Meet the 2013 Family Day Contest Winners

Due to the extraordinary generosity of local food producers, the Communities That Care Coalition was able to choose not one, but three winners in their Family Day photo contest!  Each of these families diligently took a photo of themselves having dinner together on September 23rd, as part of a national movement launched by the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) to celebrate parental engagement as an effective tool to help keep America’s kids substance free.

3rd Prescription Drug Take Back Results Released

More than one ton of unwanted prescription drugs was collected in the Northwestern District on Oct. 29, 2011, during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Working together, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), local police, seniors, and other partners exceeded the amount collected during the 2nd National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 30, 2011, despite the surprise October snowstorm.
