Greenfield Awarded $20,000 Let's Play Grant

From a Greenfield Recreation Department press release:

We are happy to announce that Dr Pepper Snapple Group (DPS) and national non-profit KaBOOM! awarded Greenfield a $20,000 Let’s Play City Construction Grant. Greenfield received the grant because it was selected as a 2012 Playful City USA community by KaBOOM! on May 1 and will use the grant to build a new playground with community involvement.

Afterburner Helps Kick Off Energy Park's 2012 Season

Afterburner is set to perform a free outdoor concert at The Energy Park on Friday, June 8th from 6:00-7:00pm. Afterburner is the United States Air Force Band of Liberty's high energy rock band. This six member group brings an explosive blend of classic rock, pop, and R&B to their dynamic stage shows. The members of this versatile group are all active duty military and are based out of Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. They have appeared on national TV, headlined major festivals, and opened for artists such as Charlie Daniels, The Commodores, The Subdudes, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Gretchen Wilson.

Greenfield Earns "Playful City USA" Designation

Today’s children spend less time playing outside than any previous generation, but 213 cities and towns, including Greenfield, earned recognition from national non-profit KaBOOM! as 2012 Playful City USA communities for their efforts to increase play opportunities for children.
