Greenfield Town Council Meeting --- March 15, 2017

During Wednesday night's meeting, a substantial public comment session featured students from Four Rivers Charter Public School endorsing the concept of Sanctuary Cities and many residents opposing development along French King Highway.  Afterwards, the council approved most of the mayor's proposed Fiscal Year 2018 Capital Budget.

Greenfield Town Council Meeting --- January 18, 2017

During last night's meeting, close to 50 people spoke during a 2-hour public comment session and most of them were against a proposed amendment to the current zoning on French King Highway.  Afterwards, the council tabled that amendment and approved moving $1.6 million from Free Cash to 5 stabilization funds.

In this presentation, the UMass-Amherst Geosciences Department RiverSmart Team explains how to prevent some of the damage caused by extreme weather events like Hurricane Irene.  The key, they say, is to adopt building and planning practices that allow rivers to behave more naturally.
