Salasin Center to Begin Offering T'ai Chi

Greenfield Recognizes National Health Center Week

Martin announced the Town of Greenfield would join in the nationwide acknowledgement of National Health Center Week, August 11-18, 2013, celebrating the role of urban and rural healthcare centers across the nation. Local health centers reduce emergency room visits while at the same time providing community-based, accessible treatment for all, as well as essential preventative care that helps citizens lead healthier lives.

Free Exercise Class at the YMCA

The Greenfield YMCA is offering a free evening exercise class, that is open to the public, for people who have osteoporosis, osteopenia, or who just want to strengthen their bones. This is a fun and beneficial exercise program that builds bones, muscles, strength, flexibility and improves balance with provided light weights and balls. We have had a wonderful response to the morning class and are now offering an evening class as well! All are welcome, and classes are free for all.

Fifth Drug Take Back A Success!

The Office of Northwestern District Attorney David E. Sullivan and partners collected 75 boxes for a total 1,847 pounds, or almost a ton, of unwanted drugs during Saturday’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, keeping them away from the wrong hands – and out of the environment.

CHCFC Crucial Catch Program Kicks Off

On October 7th, representatives from CHCFC will travel to Gillette Stadium to receive their ‘Crucial Catch’ grant check as part of a live half-time presentation during the Patriots vs. Broncos game at 4:25p.m.  Then, on October 11th from 6-8p.m., at the Greenfield Community College (GCC) Dining Commons, the health center will hold its ‘Crucial Catch’ breast cancer kick off event.  Women of all ages in the Franklin County and North Quabbin Area are cordially invited to attend this kick off.  The event at GCC is absolutely free, dinner and give- away’s provided in addition to great speakers including Sharleen Moffatt, breast cancer survivor.

CHCFC Wins Crucial Catch Grant

The Community Health Center of Franklin County (CHCFC) has been selected as a recipient of a 2012 “A Crucial Catch” grant from the National Football League, the National Football League Players Association and the New England Patriots.  A Crucial Catch, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, is focused on the importance of annual breast cancer screenings.  CHCFC was selected, in part, because Franklin County qualifies as a deprived demographic location in need of services.
