Let's Go to the Fair!

We posted our first Vine video this week, and yes, that seems like a non sequitor from this post's title, but, be patient, we'll get to the point.  We're really excited and can hardly wait for the Franklin County Fair next week.  See, back on track already!   Because we will once again be broadcasting the kickoff parade live on Cable Channel 15, we've been in the planning stages for a while now.

Each year we have to figure out which pieces of equipment to take, round up a hearty crew of volunteers to run cameras, and decide what additional coverage we're going to provide.  Last year, for the first time, we live Tweeted during the parade and, this year, we've decided to take our social media campaign even further.

During the 2013 Franklin County Fair Parade, we plan on posting on both Facebook and Twitter, as well as Vine.  Ta da!  Back to where this post began!  We're just beginning our foray into using Vine (Twitter's video sharing site where files are limited to just 6 seconds).  It occurred to us that Vine, along with the other two sites, will allow us to share this really fun event with people who not only can't join us on Main Street but also can't watch it in the comfort of their own homes.  So, if you're at work or out running around, and you have your smartphone or tablet with you, you won't have to wait until we rebroadcast the parade and make it available online.

Since, as we stated, we're still fairly new to Vine, we're making sure you will be able to fully enjoy our comments, pictures, and videos on Thursday, September, 5th, by putting up one Vine a day (when we're open), as a test, until then.  You can find us on Vine as @GCTV15, just like our Twitter feed.  Enjoy and please let us know if you like what you see.

Oh, one last, but not least, thing.  Please join us in saying "thank you" and "good bye" to our other summer intern, Casey.  He'll be starting GCC next week so today was his last day in the office.  As we noted in prior blog posts, he did a great job and we wish him well.
