Celebrate Heritage Holiday at Historic Deerfield

Adapted from a Historic Deerfield press release:

Historic Deerfield's month-long series of traditional festive activities is going strong, with even more jolly fun than last year, including horse-drawn wagon rides and giftmaking.  Also, courtesy of generous support from King Arthur Flour for Historic Deerfield's Open Hearth Cooking Program, every day in December will be "Baking Day" at Historic Deerfield.  Join hearth cooks, guides, and educators in this celebration while holiday décor and seasonal aromas set the mood for making spirits bright!  Heritage Holiday daily activities run through December 29th, except for December 24th & 25th when the village is closed, and are included with general admission to the museum.

Heritage Holiday Daily Activities:

Open Hearth Cooking: King Arthur Flour Month, 10:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m., Visitor Center at Hall Tavern
The special holiday recipes that we pass down from generation to generation are often special baked goods that we look forward to year after year. Pies, cookies, cakes and more - special baked goods conjure holiday memories in the eating and also in the preparing. Each day this December we will explore baking traditions that are a part of the holiday table.

Giftmaking, 12-4:30 p.m., Visitor Center at Hall Tavern Ballroom
Those who need to make progress on their gift list will appreciate making a special gift by hand.
