Noah’s Ark: Celebrate Animals!

Adapted from a Second Congregational Church press release:

On Saturday, October 5th, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the front lawn of the Second Congregational Church in Greenfield will resemble an ark complete with live animals, a rainbow balloon arch, music, and many activities for children and families. Crafts will include creating cardboard animals for children to decorate and hold in a 11:45 a.m. parade through the Farmers’ Market.  Children will also have the opportunity to make face masks and puppets. Entertainment will feature Karen’s Dance Studio companies dancing to animal songs, Old MacDonald’s Minstrels performing animal themed sing-alongs, the 4-H club will bring several animals for children to enjoy, and members of the Massachusetts State Police will conduct a demonstration with K-9 dogs.

Children are encouraged to wear a favorite animal costume and bring their favorite stuffed animal for a photo in the ark!  World Eye Books will be on hand with books and animal puppets and Heifer Project will have information.  The event is rain or shine. Parents should bring cameras for many photo opportunities! The event is free, but an offering box will be available for freewill donations to the Faith Fund which supports community activities in our building.
