Still Time to Bid on Wet Paint!

Adapted from a Northwestern District Attorney’s Office press release:

Online bidding, for 20 paintings of local scenes and still lifes by some of the Valley’s best artists, began last week on the Northwestern Children’s Advocacy Center’s website.  The works of art will be the centerpiece of an Oct. 3 benefit silent auction and wine tasting at the Hotel Northampton, from 6:30 -9 p.m. (Auction closes at 8:30). In the meantime, they can be seen in a slideshow on the Northwestern CAC’s website.

The Northwestern District of Massachusetts, serving Hampshire and Franklin counties and the town of Athol,  has one of the highest rates of child abuse in Massachusetts, with over 5,000 reported cases each year.  The Northwestern Children’s Advocacy Center is a child-friendly house where physically and sexually abused children can be interviewed and medically examined, away from a law enforcement setting and busy hospital emergency departments.  It provides a safe environment that minimizes further trauma to already traumatized children and promotes healing.

For more information about Wet Paint!,  or to reserve tickets ($90 in advance, $100 at the door), visit NorthwesternCAC.org.
