Art Show & Poetry Reading at the RLC

Adapted from a Western Massachusetts Recovery Learning Community (RLC) press release:

As part of its Peer Art Series, "Life Systems", The Western Massachusetts Recovery Learning Community (RLC) will host an opening for its latest exhibit, "The Linens Project" featuring local artist Laura Gail Grohe, on Friday, March 7th, from 6PM to 8PM at the RLC's Greenfield Center (74 Federal Street).

Laura Gail Grohe is a native of Boston's South End and has lived in Western Massachusetts for the last 18 years.  Her work has appeared in several publications, notably Boston Literary Magazine, Paterson Literary Review, and Verse Wisconsin.

When the side effects of medication reduced her ability to write, Gail Grohe began to explore fiber arts.  Poetry being her first love, she has come full circle to meet the textile work she explored in its absence.  "The Linens Project" is the perfect marriage of Laura Gail Grohe's poetry and fiber art.

At the opening reception for "The Linens Project", other local artists will come together to recite Laura's poems, which are embroidered on antique linens and displayed on walls throughout the space.  Light refreshments will be offered.

If you can't make it to the opening, Laura's art will be displayed from March through May at the Greenfield center.  For more information, visit the RLC's website at
