News & Notes From the Town

Adapted from several Greenfield Town Clerk's Office press releases:

There are all kinds of ways that Greenfield residents can stay informed about, and participate in, town government.  The town clerk would like to remind you that the voter registration deadline for the town's June election is May 21st, the town council will be holding office hours on May 29th, and late fees will begin to be assessed to dog owners who haven't licensed their pets by June 2nd.

VOTER REGISTRATION
The Greenfield Town Clerk’s office advises residents the last day to register to vote in, or change their address for, the June 10th Annual Town Election will be Wednesday, May 21, 2014.   The Town Clerk’s Office will be open from 8:30AM to 8PM on that date.  For further information, please call the Town Clerk’s Office at 772-1555 x112.

TOWN COUNCIL OFFICE HOURS
In an effort to encourage dialogue with the citizens of Greenfield, Precinct 6 Town Councilor Hillary Hoffman, as well as other councilors, will be present in the 1st floor meeting room in Town Hall on Thursday, May 29th, to answer questions or accept opinions from residents regarding town-wide issues.  All residents are welcome to attend this event from 5:30PM to 7PM.  Town Hall is located at 14 Court Square.

DOG LICENSING
Residents are reminded that all dogs were required to be licensed by April 1st.  A late fee of $25.00 will be applied, in addition to the license fee, beginning on June 2nd.  After that date, the list of unlicensed dogs will be provided to the Animal Control Officer for enforcement of dog licensing laws and ordinances, which will result in additional fines.

Fees are $10.00 for spayed and neutered dogs, and $15.00 for males and females.  Dog owners must present a current rabies certificate at the time of licensing.  If the dog has not previously been registered as neutered or spayed, a certificate or letter from your veterinarian stating this fact must also be presented.  Please contact the Town Clerk's Office for further information at (413) 772-1555 x112.
