News from Baystate Franklin Medical Center

Adapted from several Baystate Franklin Medical Center (BFMC) press releases:

There's a lot going on at Greenfield's hospital!  A hard-working Greenfield Community College Student has received a scholarship from the Baystate Franklin Auxiliary, the public is invited to a free Health & Safety Fair on June 5th (***THE LOCATION FOR THIS HAS CHANGED, read more for details***), and BFMC will be doing cholesterol screening on the 11th.

The Baystate Franklin Auxiliary at Baystate Franklin Medical Center has awarded $10,000 in scholarships to 15 students who are pursuing health care-related degrees.  One of these scholarship recipients is Chelsea Betsold, a Greenfield Community College nursing student who was selected by the college.

The Annie S. Barclay Scholarships are awarded annually in the form of tuition grants to students seeking education in health care from an accredited program of study.  Applicants may be BFMC employees, children of BFMC employees, BFMC volunteers, or children or grandchildren of BFA members.  Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and Greenfield Community College nursing students are also eligible to apply.  Scholarships are funded from invested income, designated gifts, fundraising projects, and BFA member donations.

For more information about Baystate Franklin Auxiliary’s Annie S. Barclay Scholarship program, contact Human Resources at Baystate Franklin Medical Center, 413-773-2295.  Application forms for 2015 will be available in December 2014.
