$5 Felines from Dakin

Adapted from a Dakin Humane Society press release:

The Pioneer Valley's Dakin Humane Society announced yesterday that it will be participating in the 2014 ASPCA “Mega Match-a-thon” adoption weekend by presenting a $5 Felines event on Saturday, October 18th, at both its Springfield and Leverett locations, from Noon until 6PM.

The 2014 ASPCA "Mega Match-a-thon" event, presented by Subaru, is a nationwide effort to save the lives of more shelter animals during the weekend of October 17-19, 2014.  Dakin's $5 Felines event features the reduction of adoption fees to just $5 for cats older than six months.  Every cat adopted will have received the standard Dakin benefits including micro-chipping, a full veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations and treatments, spay/neuter surgery, a safety collar, and an I.D. tag.  Steve Lewis Subaru of Hadley is a promotional sponsor for Dakin’s event.

According to Dakin’s Executive Director Leslie Harris, “We’re pleased to offer this event to the public as part of the ASPCA ‘Mega Match-a-thon,’ which is dedicated to helping so many wonderful pets and people come together as newly-formed families.  It’s very rewarding to be saving so many animals’ lives and enriching those of their adopters.”
