Fall Happenings at the Moose Lodge

Adapted from a Greenfield Moose Lodge #997 press release:

During the next two months, Greenfield's Moose Lodge will be holding three fundraisers and is inviting the public to join them.  Godfather Murder Mystery Night will take place September 20th, the new Moose International Deputy Supreme Governor for Massachusetts and Rhode Island will be "roasted" on the 27th, and there will be a statewide cribbage tournament and chili cook off October 18th.

Godfather Murder Mystery Night (9/20) starts with a cocktail hour at 5PM, dinner and the show start at 6PM.  The show, Goodfellas, Deadfellas, is a production of the Comical Mystery Tour directed by Ken Adams.  Dinner includes Pasta Fagioli by the Moose's own Terry Bartak, your choice of Luca Brasi's "Sleeps with the Fishes" or "Fat Clemenza's Pasta & Sauce", and "Drop the Gun, Take the Cannoli" for dessert.  Tickets are $25, while they last.  Once you have tickets, you may contact the Comical Mystery Tour at (413) 774-9844 to have a joke targeted at your dinner companions worked into the script.  Is it going to be fun?  Fuhgeddaboudit!

The "Roast" Beef Dinner in honor of Richard Henry's installation as the new Moose International Deputy Supreme Governor for Massachusetts and Rhode Island (9/27) will begin with cocktails at 5PM, dinner will start at 6PM.  Tickets are $20.  Wear your asbestos underwear because the flames will be sparking as jokes, zingers, and innuendo fly at the expense of this Greenfield institution.  Guests from the town government, town politics, the insurance industry, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, music and other community groups, as well as a heard of Moose will be on hand to have and make fun.

This year's Massachusetts and Rhode Island Moose Association statewide cribbage tournament & chili cook off (10/18) has a $20 entry fee.  It's a double elimination partners cribbage tournament with ½ the pot going to the winners.  Each entry fee paid comes with 8 chili sample tickets.  Additional chili sample tickets can be purchased on site at 6 for $5 and include FREE corn bread!  A $100 prize will be awarded for the best Chili.  No entry fee is required for the Chili Cook Off, cook at home and heat on site with your crockpot.  Cocktail hour will take place at 5PM with the tournament and Chili Cook-Off starting at 6 pm.

The lodge is located at 20 School Street in Greenfield.  For tickets and more information, please call the lodge at (413) 773-9030.
