Adapted from a Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Central New England, Inc. press release:

The Better Business Bureau of Central New England will accept nominations for the 2015 Western Massachusetts Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics until February 28th.  Torch Awards are presented to honor businesses that consistently demonstrate the highest standards and practices in cultivating ethical buyer/seller relationships, epitomize corporate responsibility, and always do right by their customers.

"We had dozens of amazing nominees for our Central Massachusetts Torch Awards held this past November;" said Nancy B. Cahalen, President and CEO of BBB of Central New England. "All of those involved in the awards remarked at how interesting it was to learn about the wonderful and unique businesses in our community. We're looking forward to receiving nominations for our Western MA region and to finding out what makes those businesses shine."

People are invited to submit the names of businesses they believe display outstanding integrity in their practices and demonstrate a commitment to the community.  Torch Award nominations will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges.  Businesses must meet the following criteria to be eligible for nomination:

*Maintain high standards of behavior towards customers, suppliers, and employees.
*Have a history of ethical business practices and community involvement.
*Be a for-profit company that has been in business for a minimum of 3 years in our service area.
*Have a satisfactory record with the BBB and not have been the recipient of a Torch Award within the last 3 years.
