Reminders from the Northwestern District Attorney

Adapted from a Northwestern District Attorney’s (NWDA) Office press release:

This Saturday, September 26th, the NWDA's office will help you get rid of unwanted medications and secure yourself against identity theft.  From 10AM to 2PM, at the Greenfield Police Station (321 High Street), members of the public can participate in both National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and a Community Shred Event.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Drop off your old medicine for safe disposal, no questions asked.  Medicines can remain in their original containers, with labels.  Staff at the event will accept prescription & non-prescription drugs, vitamins, and pet medications but NOT needles, syringes, IV equipment, liquids of any type, or chemotherapy drugs.  More information can be found here.

Community Shred Event
Bring your receipts, credit offers, credit applications, insurance forms, physician statements, checks, bank statements, expired charge cards, and similar documents for secure shredding.  Computer hard drives and unwanted cell phones will be accepted too!

Both of these events are free.  For more information, please contact Chris Geffin, program director for the NWDA’s Elders and People with Disabilities Unit, at (413) 437-5747, or click here.
