Greenfield Town Councilors At Large are elected for three year terms and one of these seats will be open during the 2014 election.  Candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must obtain 100 certified voter signatures with not more than 25 certified voter signatures from any one precinct.
Greenfield Town Councilors are normally elected for three year terms, however, this year the Precinct 2 seat is only available for one year because the elected councilor resigned mid-term and a replacement could only be appointed until the next election.  Candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must obtain 50 certified voter signatures from the precinct in which the nomination is sought.

One trustee of the Jennie L. Bascom Education Fund is elected for a one year term and this seats will be open during the 2013 election.  Candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must obtain 100 certified voter signatures with not more than 25 certified voter signatures from any one precinct.
The Elector Under Will of Oliver Smith is elected for a one year term.  Candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must obtain 100 certified voter signatures with not more than 25 certified voter signatures from any one precinct.
Veteran Trustees of Soldiers Memorial are elected for three year terms and one of these seats will be open during the 2014 election.  Candidates wishing to appear on the ballot must obtain 100 certified voter signatures with not more than 25 certified voter signatures from any one precinct.

"Shall an act passed by the General Court in the year 2014, entitled 'An Act amending the Charter of the City known as the Town of Greenfield' be accepted?

Greenfield Charter Amendment Summary:
The proposed Greenfield Town Charter amendment would extend the terms of office for elected officials, including proposed four (4) year terms for the Mayor, Town Councilors and School Committee.  The date of the regular elections would be moved to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November in all years ending in an odd number and the administration of the oaths of offices to elected officials would occur on the first business day of January.  Following acceptance, current, elected office holders’ terms of office would expire in December 2015 and a transitional election would be held for elected officials in November 2015.
