GCTV Lobby Artist – Shapes in Space by Mary C. Frongillo
From Mary C. Frongillo: Fiber sculpture, like the more traditional forms of sculpture, is an exploration of space. In this collection, I am particularly interested in how the trajectory of a moving object or gesture can be made visible, or seen, as it travels from here to there.
Think of all the movements a single human body makes in the course of a day, a year, a lifetime. See the intersecting and overlapping forms of each movement. Imagine how this might feel in the fullness of space. Imagine the vitality of space, and be humbled.
