FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GCTV Board Changes Usher In New Era

Following the retirement of longtime board member Garry Longe, representing over two decades of institutional knowledge, Greenfield Community Television (GCTV) is proud to announce the addition of two new board members.

Sarah Bolduc, a City Council member and secretary of the Historical Commission, was appointed to the board in November by Greenfield’s mayor as one of two such city appointees, the other being Greenfield Communications Director Jonathan Weber in early 2025. Bolduc brings a formality to the board and an expertise in local history, documentation and development. As such, Bolduc now chairs the GCTV Development Committee.

Amy McMahan, owner of the former Mesa Verde restaurant, will join Bolduc on Development, with the goal of increasing connections with the community, both in outreach and inculcation strategies. In McMahan’s experience of running her social media campaign “Humans of Franklin County”, she was touched by the positive responses she received. She hopes her work on the GCTV board can bring more positive stories to Greenfield and beyond.

The timing of these two new board members coincides with two big milestones coming up in 2026, the first being the long-awaited upgrade of GCTV's cablecast signal from grainy analog coax to crisp Standard Definition (SD) digital fiber, which will put GCTV on the same Comcast digital broadcast network as all other public access stations in Franklin County. We are also excited about the soon-coming upgrade of 107.9 WMCB-LP's FM radio transmission capabilities, following a move to the station’s 393 Main Street location, expanding both their coverage area and signal quality.

People who live, work, or go to school in Franklin County are welcome to join the GCTV board to fill any of the three remaining open seats. Additionally both GCTV and WMCB-LP are always on the lookout for community content producers. Information on their programs can be found at GCTV.org and WMCB.net
